With millions of miles behind him and no end in sight, singer-songwriter Jim Burns has continued to work tirelessly to cement his place in the music landscape specializing in genuine country music. Jim quite literally received his education in the cities of the nation. Getting his start with National Performing Artist such as Trace Adkins, Chely Wright, and Jamey Johnson, Jim made his connection and fed his passion by working behind the scenes. It did not take long for his unique voice and distinct guitar playing to gain the notoriety of others. While trekking the country with some of music’s biggest names, Jim found himself being drawn out from behind the scenes and standing in the spotlight, sharing the stage with the likes of Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Gary Allan, Kid Rock, and many more. Jim is often compared to the legendary Willie Nelson, whose distinctive tone of voice, conversational phrasing of lyrics, and recognizable guitar style had a heavy influence in the infancy of Jim’s musical journey. According to Jamey Johnson Jim is “As close as it gets [Willie Nelson]”.

2011 was the year Jim found himself with a growing family and the opportunity to establish his own band, The Jim Burns Band. Their debuting album “From Where I stand” released in 2015, features the familiar sound of classic country melodies and magnetic story telling lyrics that have been missing from mainstream country radio for too long. For more than a decade the Jim Burns Band has delivered their unforgettable sound in a variety of venues. Performing for the masses while also entertaining those at the small-town honkytonks and local taverns, they continue to produce professional, consistent, and unforgettable shows. The Jim Burns Band was even selected for a featured piece in the unreleased James Franco film, “The Long Home” to perform a haunting rendition of “You Are my Sunshine” alongside actress and singer, Courtney Love.

Jim and his fellow band members have an innate sense of the importance of artists in their community and enjoy fostering new talent by hosting a long standing and well-respected open mic night and their frequent collaboration with other artists through festivals, song-writing, recording, and album production. Now focused on bringing their brand of music to patrons across the nation, The Jim Burns Band is working on their second album to be released in the near future.
