Danny is an American guitarist, songwriter, and arranger. A graduate from “Musicians Institute of Technology’s” guitar program, Danny studied privately with Grammy Award winning jazz guitarist Norman Brown and contemporary jazz guitar legend, Frank Gambale.
While in Los Angeles, Danny began recording and performing with a variety of artist from all genres of music; jazz, rock, pop, country, R&B, and Hip Hop. A short time later he began to record with Mark Oliver Everett (from “eels” fame) on his debut album, “A Man Called E”.
After moving to Cincinnati, Danny became the guitarist and songwriter for the contemporary jazz Christian group, All Good. All Good recorded a self-titled 11 song CD, followed by a short tour, opening for the likes of Christian artist “Mary Mary” and world renown jazz saxophonist, Kirk Whalum at Cincinnati’s annual event, “Taste of Cincinnati.”
Following All Good, Danny helped form the contemporary jazz band, Cindicate with keyboardist, Thad Southwick. Cindicate has released an album titled, “My New Life” and performed the song “Along the Waves” on Cincinnati’s Channel 12’s morning news program, “Good Morning Cincinnati.” As a current member of the band Cindicate, he regularly performs live and records for their upcoming album, “Find My Own Way.”
Danny still loves to guest on a variety of artist’s recordings as you’ll hear him play rhythm and lead on the song “Soulmate” from the funk/R&B album, “Neo”, by Chocq T.
Danny Davis Jr. regularly performs as a solo artist to help promote his album, “Soar Above” and upcoming soon to be released album, “People.” Audiences will hear a mix of jazz, classical, and Spanish music at his performances as well as in his recordings. His live act ranges from solo guitar to guitar/piano duets to full size band performances.
